Soon, the outstanding quality and practical size made Lomo LC-A Kampact very popular in Russia and was widely introduced in many other Communist countries.

In 1991, some Austrian students from arts department of University of Vienna used Lomo LC-A to record their trip in Prague, they found out that the world of Lomo looked different and passionately colorful. They shot from unusual angles, various things and people were captured by the lens of LC-A. This new way of photography was then discovered and shown to the Western world, young people's attention were massively attracted and in 1992, the international community of Lomography was founded in Vienna and the 10 golden rules of lomography were made.

Things went well until 1994. Due to the reason of bad economical situation in Russia, all production of Lomo cameras were stopped and the workers were leaving the manufacture.
During 1995-1997, the Lomography community kept making effort on rescuing the production of LC-A cameras, they organized numerous negotiations with the manufacture and finally in 1997, LOMO PLC decided not to stop producing LC-A.

Currently, the Lomography and its technology have been developing for nearly 26 years. Different kinds of Lomo cameras were introduced, the word LOMO is no longer a brand name, but a life style, a name of a wide range of compact optical cameras, members of the international Lomography community explained Lomo with different paraphrase: Let Our Lives be Magic and Open.
